This review is about a gem I can't even remember how I stumbled upon originally, but nevertheless the message has stayed with me months after viewing it. Craigslist Joe is about a man living entirely off the good will of strangers for a month utilizing the popular site "craigslist.org". He uses it for rides, food, a place to sleep, and entertainment. He meets interesting people all over the country in his journeys, giving a unique insight into some raw humanity.

The aforementioned documentarian, Joseph Garner, is in many ways symbolic of many others in our country in different ways; not sure where his next meal will come from, has no where to sleep, has no money or form of income, no means of transportation, but with all that, he was able to survive for a month and travel all across the country. The profound impact this had on me was surprising, since all I had ever heard about Craig's List prior to this boiled down to a punchline.

I see connections to my Student Affairs work here since the titular Joe was able to connect with complete strangers and create a network of people who gave very little but accomplished something great. If we can get our students or our colleagues across offices, departments, and institutions to do the same, everyone would benefit.

I really enjoyed this movie, it's a unique look at community and our country and I strongly encourage to give it some of your time and stream it today. You won't regret it.
