Does anyone enjoy sitting exams? To be honest, they can sometimes be better than writing essays, but there's one key thing about exams that grinds a lot of gears. Instead of being a knowledge test, they end up being memory tests. In no part of life will you ever be required to remember information on the spot - you always have a chance to look things up if needed. The most important thing is that you actually understand what you're talking about.
As such, sitting exams can be horrible if your memory is poor or you struggle to think during the exam conditions. With the three ideas below, you should learn how to memorize important things for your exams, so you can start acing them!
Flashcards are an easy way to remember things a lot better than reading through old notes. You can make them yourself, or you can find apps and online resources that have pre-made flashcards for your topic of choice. Effectively, you have a question on the front and an answer on the back. You keep going through these flashcards until you drill the answers to the questions in your head. When you're in the exam, you can see questions that include words that you're used to seeing on the flashcards, triggering your memory and revealing the answer on the back. It really does help!
For a lot of students, reading textbooks and making notes isn't mentally stimulating enough to get you to remember things. Instead, you can get a lot more out of your studies by watching videos. Look for videos on the topics you're studying, and they can offer visual stimulation that helps you make sense of things. Right away, you have a better time remembering key bits of information as you can recall the video in your head. It is so helpful to have that visual aid imprinted on your mind when you sit an exam.
Lastly, you can try to memorize information by using rhymes. Funnily enough, this is one of the earliest ways we used to memorize things as kids. Creating rhymes is fun, and it gets little tunes stuck in your head that you can repeat over and over again. The great news is, anyone can make up rhymes for anything. All you need is a rhyme dictionary, and you're good to go. Look at the points or topics that you need to memorize, and try to create a rhyme or rap about them. It engages you on a creative level, meaning you are more likely to remember what you're talking about. Try it, and you will kick yourself for not doing it sooner.
There you have it; three ways to help you memorize important things for your exams. Yes, it is annoying that this is a memory test more than anything else, but these tactics will ensure you store the information in your brain. One quick question before we end: if you were given the choice between taking an exam or writing an essay, which would you choose and why?
As a podcast creator, you get to share information, encourage others, and lend support; however, listeners miss out if they don’t know you exist.

Unless you employ the help of an essay writing service, you will need to find a way to remove any distractions from around you, since the essay will be important and could even be the difference between a pass and a fail. With that in mind, here are some of the best ways to write an essay without distractions.

Research is going to be a hugely important part of any essay, no matter what the topic might be, and even if you’re an expert in the subject. Before you even think about writing anything down, make sure you have done all your research, have all your notes, and know who to credit for the information. Once you have completed your research, you can then move on to writing the content of the essay without having to keep stopping to look up information and check that you’ve included the correct information.
When you research first, you’ll know just where the essay will be going and what information to include as well as what conclusion you intend to draw. You won’t have to keep stopping, interrupting the flow of ideas, and you will complete the work much more quickly and with fewer mistakes. As an added benefit, once you have done your research, you can turn off the internet because you’ll no longer need it, and it won’t be such a distraction.
Although it’s possible to do some work with other people around you, when it comes to writing an essay, you need to give it your full concentration, and that means finding a quiet space by yourself to complete the work. Having a room you can go to and shut the door so you can concentrate is the best thing you can have if you want to work with no distractions.
Make the room comfortable so you can sit for as long as it takes to get the essay done (although breaks every hour or so are essential – ten minutes of moving around will help you stay focused and productive, plus it’s healthy), and you will find that you can really get into the work you have to do and you won’t be distracted by anything else going on around you.
Do you like to write essays with the radio on or even the TV to keep you company? Many people do, and it can become a habit that is hard to break. Even if you think this background noise isn’t affecting your concentration in any way, the truth is that it will be – subconsciously, you will be able to hear it, and it will distract you. What could be an outstanding essay might turn out to be mediocre simply because you’ve got some music on while you write.
Turn everything off and wear headphones if you need to. The quieter your writing space is, the better your essay will be. It will also take much less time to write it, so you’ll be free to listen to as much music or watch as much TV as you want once it’s done.
University students across the country, and the world, have been engaging with their studies via online and video streaming over the last 18 months. Due to people always wanting to learn, known as andragogy, it is important that students can access their education from anywhere so they can continue to learn. This is possible thanks to hybrid learning. The shift to remote learning due to the pandemic has opened up the technology to a whole host of higher education institutions.
Remote learning has a number of benefits to learners when it is implemented well. Epiphan Video provides a range of solutions to capture and distribute lectures on an easy-to-use and administer the system. Studies have revealed that hybrid and remote learning can be beneficial to students when it is delivered as part of a well-planned and managed system.
Remote and hybrid learning has many advantages when it comes to the accessibility of education. Not only does it mean that students can access information from anywhere, but it also allows those with social anxieties or learning issues to participate too.
Recorded lectures can be paused and restarted as needed and questions posed via email or online forums.
Classroom-based study has often been a deterrent for many people wanting to study or continue their education but cannot due to existing jobs or caring responsibilities. With classroom-based learning no longer being a prerequisite, it’s been possible for these learners to participate and gain the qualifications they need.
Epiphan Video has created an infographic that showcases its hardware for capturing lectures and how it can be easily managed internally by both academics and administrators.

Got numbers on your mind? We’re not just talking about making bank. If you have great attention to detail and the ability to follow and compute numbers easily, then that can be an incredibly lucrative skill. When changing careers, it’s best to follow those skills that come naturally and build on them. Here are a few career paths that could make good use of that number-driven brain of yours.
Bookkeepers
One of the simplest jobs to get into that would make good use of that numeric brain is bookkeeping. This might involve freelancing services out to small businesses or getting a permanent position at a larger business. Bookkeepers do a variety of jobs, most around keeping finances in order. They normally make sure that everything is being accounted for, showing an accurate cash flow for the client, and storing and organizing any financial documents. Effectively, they do the financial busy work so that their client or employer doesn’t have to.
Accountants
A lot of people might make the mistake of believing that a bookkeeper and a chartered accountant do roughly the same thing. Indeed, sometimes, accountants do handle bookkeeping duties, but that’s far from their usual job description. Accountants are highly qualified specialist advisors. They need training and certification to provide their main duty: giving tax advice. As such, quite a bit of education is needed beyond being good at math, but options like a low cost CPA exam course can make it easier for people at all life stages to find that path to becoming an accountant. It does require a lot of time and work, regardless, however.
Actuaries
Are there any particular kinds of mathematics that you excel at? How about probability? If that’s the case, then becoming an actuary might give you a good chance of a successful career. Typically, actuaries work for insurance, investment, and other companies. They determine, with math, the risks of certain events, as well as the likely costs of any damages caused by those events. Becoming an insurance actuary isn’t the only option either, as they often work in a private consulting capacity, helping business owners learn and avoid all manners of risks.
Data science
One of the industries that are quickly rising is that of understanding, interpreting, and making use of data. Data analysts and data scientists are two different job roles, but they mostly rely on the same skills of being able to comb through vast data-sets to pull out the data relevant to deliver insights to an employer or a client. Of course, given that data is handled via computers, training with IT systems is also going to be essential, especially in working with specialist software design to collect and collate data from a wide range of sources (also known as Big Data.)
The careers above are about doing more than counting or doing sums, it should be noted. However, if you’ve got a brain that’s inclined towards all things numeric, then you have a head start in hopping into any of them.
These days, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a person who isn’t on social media - it’s what connects everyone, and, quite frankly, it’s a right of passage into the 21st century. But, social media has also been a topic of discussion for a while now, and not in a good way. While it was created for all the right reasons, human nature has had its way with it more than a few times, using it for destructive purposes and spewing lies and fake news all around the world. Social media has also become another method of bullying, allowing youngsters to humiliate each other in the cruelest ways publicly. However, if one was to take all the bad, you need to take the good along with it as well - that said, here are some truly valid benefits of being on social media.

This has never been more true than it is now. During nationwide lockdowns and restrictions prohibiting everyone from setting foot outside their doors, social media has been a lifeline for many people living alone and needing some form of human interaction. Not only did it provide a platform for people from all over to interact with one another, but it lessened the feeling of isolation and gave a glimmer of light to people who might have felt like there was none.
Whether you’re connecting with your loved one who lives abroad or reconnecting with an old friend, it’s enabled through social media. Without it, losing contact with someone would be too easy, and you’d perhaps feel like keeping in touch is almost impossible. You can also connect with other people you may feel share the same story or difficulties as you. For example, suppose you were to have a mental illness that you feel your family or friends don’t really understand. In that case, you can easily go on social media, find millions of other people in the world going through the same thing, and connect with them on a level that would be of significant support to you.
Social media isn’t only a platform for people but memories as well. Think of Instagram as a digital album where you can post your favorite photos of each special occasion and be able to revisit that memory any time you’d like with a simple click of a button. And don’t worry, you can also quickly figure out how to delete posts on Instagram if you’d like to erase a particular memory later in time, but it’s all up to you! With social media, it doesn’t matter if your cell phone gets stolen or your laptop crashes and years of photos are lost with it - with social media, you’ll have those images forever.
Social media may be a dangerous weapon if not used correctly, but that shouldn’t deter anyone from still using it for all the great purposes it was invented for. After all, if you were to take all the things away that could be wielded for hurtful reasons, you’d probably have nothing left!
It’s hard to choose a great gift for gamers because there are so many options and gamers have preferences. So even if you do know that your loved one likes games, the real question is which ones do they like?
Do they prefer video, computing, arcade, or online games? And even when you do know the kind of games they like, making a choice can be difficult. Then, there’s the part of the “itch” –where a gamer is thinking of trying out new gaming platforms.
Someone who liked video games can get bored with them and secretly desire a different platform or game type. It’s stressful, we know. But with this post on gift ideas, you should be able to comfortably get a fun gift that your gamer friend, brother, sister, or partner will love.

If your favorite person plays a lot of online games, then a very comfortable gaming headset with an immersive sound is always a safe bet. This is because it’s a staple for all video gamers and is required for communication while they’re gaming.
For instance, if they’re playing an MMORPG game, and a gamer needs to be away from the keyboard (AFK), they don’t need to interrupt the gameplay. They can simply tell their counterparts that they are away and others can fill in for them or pick up the slack until they’re back.
If your gamer loved one has a gaming headset that they’ve been using forever, find out the brand they’ll like and get them one. They’ll appreciate it.

Gamers spend hours playing their favorite games. This means that they are usually sitting down for the duration of that gaming session. Prolonged sitting can hurt the back. So they need a very comfortable chair to help them concentrate and stay comfortable.
See if your gamer friend has a comfortable ergonomic chair specifically made for gamers. If they don’t have that and spend a lot of time gaming, there’s your gift idea right there.
A super-comfortable gaming chair that supports the buttocks and back is always a welcome gift to any gamer who loves their craft or hobby. Depending on your budget, you can get great gaming chairs with lots of features like vibration motors and forward-facing speakers for under $300.
What is gaming without that the auditory experience? Gaming is best enjoyed with great sound. And the more enhanced the sound is, the better the experience. Gamers always love soundbars or home theatre equipment with deep bass because of the immersive experience and surround sounds.
You don’t have to get them a tricked-out home theatre system. A soundbar with lots of bass will do just fine. Thankfully, there are a ton of options in the market, and you can try them out at the electronics store before buying them.
Most soundbars retail for under $400. So you should be able to get a great one. Remember: the deeper the bass, the better the experience ;).

Running out of juice while playing your favorite game sucks. Wireless controllers sometimes run out of juice; same for other battery-operated devices. When this happens, gamers often have to interrupt their gameplay to switch out the batteries.
So when they can’t find batteries that work or are charged, this can lead to serious frustration –particularly when they’re about to have an epic moment during gameplay.
This is why rechargeable batteries are always a good gift idea. This way, the gamers never have to run out of juice while enjoying the time of their lives.
All they have to do is swap out the drained batteries and charge, replace them with a new one, and get back to their gaming sessions. All of these activities can be done in less than 30 seconds.
Gaming consoles can fill up pretty quickly. This leads to limited space for saving game sessions or progress and slower loading times. A portable storage device like a microSDXC card or an external drive can solve this problem.
MicroSDXCs are usually available in 128GB and 256GB formats. But if you want the 512GB and 1TB, you can get them –although they aren’t as popular or as common as the smaller sizes.
As for backup storage devices, you can get external drives with 500GB to 2 TB storage capacity. Both of these storage options are great for prolonged and sustained gaming. They eliminate the need to download video games, thus allowing the gamer to focus on what they love doing: gaming.

If your loved one is a gaming enthusiast, chances are they may be interested in video gaming tournaments. If you have an idea of the games they like, you can simply look for live video gaming events and buy them the tickets so they can attend esports competitions.
The thrill of watching some of their favorite gaming legends play will be an experience they won’t forget in a hurry. And if you think they’re good enough to compete, find ways to get them into the events.
Also, you can buy them access to video game conventions where they can geek out on the latest gaming tech and possible future inventions. This is always great for gamers
Most gamers have probably had an arcade gaming experience at some point. Find out if yours has played an arcade game before and if they liked it.
If they’ve not had any experience and are having a party, you can always arrange to bring some arcade games to the party. And you don’t have to buy one either. You can simply rent the games for a fee.
See if you can find gaming companies offering arcade rentals for events and get them to your party. Your loved ones and their friends will thoroughly enjoy the arcade gaming experience.
All gamers will appreciate membership subscriptions that will allow them to gain access to lots of games without paying extra. Think of this gift as Netflix for gamers.
However, you’ll need to find out which gaming platforms or consoles they prefer –usually PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo. There’s no point in buying a Nintendo online 12-month membership for a PlayStation 5 gamer.
Buy them exclusive multi-month membership passes based on their gaming preferences. Most services have membership subscriptions that they can enjoy.
For example, there’s PlayStation Plus 3-Month Membership plan, Xbox Game pass Ultimate 3-Month Membership, or Nintendo Switch Online 13-month pass –there are longer tenures if you prefer a 6-month or 12-month subscription.
These memberships offer features like access to hundreds of games, multi-platform or cross-platform gaming, free gaming licenses, multiplayer capabilities, and occasional discounts on games.
Gaming is better on an ultra-high-definition gaming monitor. If it’s a 4K monitor, that’s even better. The vividness of the colors, smoother frame rates, fast loading speed, and beauty of 4K monitors are often breathtaking. Plus, you never have to worry about sharing the TV anymore ;).
Gamers who transition from regular screens to 4K can’t often believe how vibrant the colors are. If you can afford one –usually costs $249+, get your loved one a 4K monitor setup. They’ll think of you every time they play their favorite games.
Gamers are often super-excited about new and upcoming games. So, look up the newest most interesting games in their preferred categories, and buy them.
Many people often underestimate how powerful this gesture is because the games aren’t typically expensive. However, we guarantee that if you get them a game that they’ve been talking about or waiting to get, they’ll love that game.

Many gamers typically stick to their controllers for years. It doesn’t matter that the controller looks worn and has probably broken down a few times. The reality is it’s hard to break the bond between a gamer and their controller.
So your controller gift should be a major upgrade from the one they’re using. It should take their gaming to another level. Make sure that you get them a premium high-performance controller –preferably with buttons that can be customized to the recipient’s preferences.
Another really good controller gift idea is limited edition controllers. These are rare, highly sought after, and coveted by gamers. They are like a badge of honor, plus they look cool too.
Here’s the truth: gamers are often the easiest group of people to get gifts for. They already tell you what they like and how they like it. All you gotta do is pay attention, and you’ll get them a gift that they will appreciate. The gaming gift ideas we’ve listed here are great and will make your gaming loved one very happy.
